Laredo BorderSlam presents the 2017 SouthWest ShootOut!
This fast-paced, word-slinging competition will leave the microphone hotter than a gunbarrel after a duel in the desert heat. Teams from the Southwest of the United States will be making their way to the border for a chance to win cash prizes and the title of the 2017 SWSO Team Champions, but it won't be without a good fight.
Ten teams of up to 5 poets will compete in two preliminary bouts on Friday, June 23rd in Downtown Laredo. Top 2 winners from each bout will compete in the Finals round on Saturday, June 24th.
We will also be holding an Individual Competition Friday where 16 poets will compete head-to-head like true gunslingers in a duel. Victorious poets will compete before Team Finals for the title of 2017 SWSO Individual Champion.
The real question is.... Can you handle the heat?
