LAREDO BORDERSLAM POETRY
2017 Southwest ShootOut
The 2017 SouthWest ShootOut Regional Slam will take place in Laredo, TX on June 23rd & 24th, 2017.
Team Registration Fee:
$150 per team. Includes admission into all events for up to 6 competing team members/coaches and 1 individual entry into the Individual Competition.
Team Competition Format:
Preliminary bouts & Finals will be 4×4 bouts with the top 4 teams in competition proceeding to finals.
If the 16 team limit is not reached, bouts will be arranged in 4 teams x 3 bouts. 2nd place in each bout will go to a Last Chance Slam Saturday morning for the opportunity to take the 4th spot in Finals.
Individual Registration Fee:
Up to 20 poets will be allowed to register for the Individual Competition. Teams may register one poet to represent their slam.
Additional spots will be made available for a $35 registration fee on April 23rd, 2017.
Individual Competition Format:
Preliminaries: Head to Head format - nupic style bout scored by judges preference
Finals: 2 round clean slate bout, cut to 4 in the final round.
